Larry Moore retired in September 2002 as a Director of Social Services. He has been breeding budgies since 1985 and has been a member of ABS since 1985. Larry has been a member of Sandhills Budgerigar Society since its inception about fifteen years ago. The club originally was called the Sandhills Caged Bird Society and was formed in Fayetteville but all the members eventually left ABS with the exception of Dinah and Larry. She and Larry kept the club going and renamed it the Sandhills Budgerigar Society. For many years, the club consisted of just the two of them until they returned it to Fayetteville about three years ago. On the local level, he has served as president, vice president, treasurer, secretary, and show manager. He has worked at shows both as steward behind the bench and as chief steward. Larry is currently a Champion exhibitor, an ABS Panel Judge, and a WBO Panel Judge. Since becoming a member of ABS, he has served the hobby in the following national positions: ABS Registrar ABS 2nd Vice President District 11 Director (several terms) Bulletin Editor ABS Parliamentarian ABS Representative to WBO Dinah and Larry keep mostly the normal varieties along with Spangles, Australian Pieds and the beginnings of Lutino and Dilute lines. Larry's personal statement: I enjoy the people in the hobby more than any other aspect. Today, the opportunity to talk with the new folks in the hobby and share what little knowledge I might have with them is exciting for me. Who knows, I might actually be able to guide someone past some of the landmines I stepped on during my trips in this hobby. It has been fun and I hope to continue to enjoy the hobby and the people in it for many years.

Dinah Moore is currently occupied as a Dental Hygienist. She has been breeding budgies since 1985 and has been a member of ABS since 1985. Dinah has been a member of Sandhills Budgerigar Society since its inception about 15 years ago when it was called Sandhills Caged Bird Club. Eventually all the members except Larry and Dinah left the hobby and they kept the club going, renamed it Sandhills Budgerigar Society and it functioned for many years with just the two of them as members. About three years ago, they relocated the club to Fayetteville once again where membership has grown with many wonderful and talented individuals. On the local level, she has served as president, vice president, secretary, treasurer and show secretary. Dinah has also served as steward behind the bench at many shows. On the national level, Dinah has served the hobby in the following positions: District 11 Director ABS Secretary Dinah is a Champion exhibitor and along with her husband, Larry, she raises and exhibits primarily the normal varieties along with Spangles and Australian Pieds. They have recently begun breeding Lutinos and Dilutes. Dinah's personal statement: In my 22 years in the hobby, I can honestly say that my interactions with the people we have met have been the most rewarding experiences. We have traveled throughout the US and the UK and have met many fantastic people whom we would have otherwise not have met had it not been for the budgies.
